Esomeprazole Tablet IP decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. It is also used to promote healing of erosive esophagitis (damage to your esophagus caused by stomach acid). It may also be given to prevent gastric ulcer caused by infection with helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) or by the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

Esomeprazole Tablet IP prevents the production of acid in the stomach. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers, certain bacteria in the stomach, and inflammation of the esophagus. It can also be used to prevent ulcers in patients taking medicines called NSAIDs.

It may also be used for short-term treatment of ulcers of the stomach or small intestines and to help prevent them from coming back; to treat conditions that cause your body to make too much stomach acid (eg, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome).
